How to Handle Stress with DIY Tips - Stress Management


I wasn’t exactly an expert when it concern physical and mental health, but I see knowledge about it as a necessity. So, I never quit learning, and stress management is definitely a must-to-know for everyone living in this crazy world today.

Stress is one of the many major reasons that can lead to diseases and health problems. Several researches and studies have already shown that stressful and hectic lifestyle is one of the factors that lead to high blood pressure, migraine, heart problems and many more. Sometimes, pressure and stress can also make people gain weight because they will tend to eat according to their emotions and mood rather than their needs.

There are actually many ways to reduce stress aside from choosing and restructuring your lifestyle. That, however, is something that you can and definitely have to do in a long term. You can’t just drastically change your lifestyle, your work and everything that’s contributive to the stress in your life, but it can still be done gradually.

Always keep a positive mind. Remind this to yourself everyday when you wake up in the morning. Just one thought for a day that can change how you see life within a day - that is stress free.

Meditation can relieve and reduce stress.

Meditation therapy helps you to relax your mind from everyday stressful workloads. It might need a little bit of training (which you can do on your own) and good discipline to keep up to it. It is certainly a piece of cake when you get use to it. The main key is to not push and force yourself but let your body, mind and soul feel the calmness from inside out while you are doing it. Therefore, it is recommended that you practice this in a quiet and peaceful place. You can do this 15 minutes a day whether it be in the morning or evening or just do it anytime you feel like you need it.

Do-It-Yourself tips on how to handle stress:

  • Sit comfortably while you are doing it. Ease every muscles and bones of your body. Take a deep breath, hold it for a moment and heave it out slowly. You can close your eyes while doing this.
  • Rather slowly and gently, relax physically starting from your fingers and toes and work it way up until your head. You should not feel any pressure around your neck and waist.
  • Still with your eyes close, focus on what you can only see on your mind’s eye. Keep a happy and peaceful picture in it. Let go of your troubles, think of nothing else but things that make you happy and calm. It is time to love yourself.

Feeling sorry of oneself, guilt, anger and many other negative thoughts can be a major culprit that can lead to stress. Forget all that for 15 minutes a day and you can make a difference to your health, physically and mentally. Be in support for calmer people! Stop and avoid stress for a better you.
