Generally, Influenza A or H1N1 is a type of highly contagious disease that was formed as a new type of virus constructed from the genes’ mutation of several viruses, namely influenzas infecting pigs, birds and humans.
Recent news and reports stated that the flu have a high probability of infecting half of total American population this coming winter, which might significantly increase the total number of death as well. According to the report, the second wave of the influenza might show a significant rise and expected to infect 30-50 percent of the United States population this coming winter. This influenza, if without proper and appropriate control might bring about the death of 30,000 to 90,000 people among the American population, especially among kids and those with high risk towards it.
Influenza A or H1N1 or some called it ‘swine flu’is a type of pandemic that is transmittable through the air that we breathe in, thus making us, humans as well all other living beings easily vulnerable to virus infection. It gets into the air when a person who is infected with H1N1 sneezed and coughed, and the traces of liquid that came out evaporate and bind into the air molecules and become transmittable to another person nearby.
Consequently, it is possible for a person to catch the virus through direct contact, such as through breathing and touching places that may have been polluted and still contain traces of liquid that came from the infected person.
As long as the infected person still have the major symptoms showing the existence of the virus (coughing, body pain, sore throat, breathing problem, vomiting, diarrhea and high fever), which usually takes about 7 days or more starting from the first day of infection. Children who are infected are able to spread the virus in a much longer period of time.
