Homemade Mask Recipe for Dry Skin Problems


Previously, I posted some facts about dry skin, how it happen and came about, as well as a few simple practical and general solutions on how to solve it. One of it is by getting the right skincare for yourself, another is knowing the natural remedies from ingredients that you can easily find to make your own homemade mask as part your dry skin spa treatment.

The greatest part is that you can try making these homemade mask recipes especially for dry skin on your own while at home!

Homemade Mask Recipe #1

Mix together: -

i. an egg yolk

ii. a teaspoon honey

iii. a teaspoon olive oil (you can alter the measurement according to the intensity of your dry skin condition)

iv. a drop of vitamin E oil or serum

Spread the light paste all over your face and neck and leave it on for 15 - 30 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. Follow with your moisturizer.

This recipe contains honey, which is not advisable for those with red capillaries on your face. It is better to opt for recipe #3 for those with this problem.

Homemade Mask Recipe #2

One thing that helps soothes dry skin and helps in putting peeling dry skin at bay is the flaxseed.

First boil a tablespoon of flaxseed with water until it thickens

Mix together:-

i. Boiled flaxseed

ii. a teaspoon olive oil (you can alter the measurement according to the intensity of your dry skin condition)

Apply the mask on your face for about 15 min before rinsing it with warm water or raw herbal tea. Follow with your moisturizer.

Homemade Mask Recipe #3

Get a small potato and boil it till it’s soft, and then mash it.

Mix together:-

i. The fore-mentioned mash potato

ii. 1 raw egg yolk

iii. 1 table spoon of milk or plain yogurt (either one)

Spread the paste all over your face and throat for about 20 minutes. The layer shouldn’t be too thick nor too thin. After you complete the clock check, wash it off with warm water or raw herbal tea.

Potato contains potassium, magnesium, zinc and phosphorus, which helps in giving quick reliefs for burns and promote better blood circulation under the skin.

Homemade Mask Recipe #4

You could also mix together:-

i. Grinded dry oatmeal (about 2 table spoon)

ii. 1 teaspoon of honey

iii. 3-4 table spoon of plain yogurt

If the mixture is too thick, add in a little clean water to make it lighter. A little alteration by adding coarse salt and olive oil will make it a good body scrub and mask for your other body parts that experiencing the same dry skin problem.

Apply it to your face and neck and leave it for about 15-30 minutes. As usual, rinse it later with lukewarm water.

These homemade masks for dry skin treatment can work two ways, either to prevent and protect and treat and protect. This is due to the fact that dry skin is also said to be a contributing factor in the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. So, by protecting yourself from dry skin eventually protects your skin from wrinkling up and yourself from looking old before time. Of course there are wide range of products available in the market, however it won’t harm by using these natural ingredients to fix that skin condition. It might even work better than any chemical substance that you use up till now. You don’t have to use it every other day. Once a week is already a good routine for those with moderate dry skin problem.

    Home made facial masks are very easy to make. There is two types of masks; a relaxing mask and a stimulating mask.Relaxing masks moisturize the skin and refresh the skin.
