  • Triggers of panic attacks can also be from stimulants such as caffeine, nicotine, amphetamine, alcohol, certain anti-depressants and drugs like marijuana. Sometimes the trigger can also be a result from certain medication like Ritalin, although it is only a momentary side effect.

The best treatment is to immediately consult a professional physician. They would know the best method to cure the sufferer after a few diagnoses. The physician would most likely tell you to practice a few things in order to counter your problem, such as diaphragmatic and abdominal breathing, which is breathing slowly through the nose using the diaphragm and abdomen; taking anti-anxiety medication; regular counseling session; hypnosis; coping statements or talking with a supportive person. Another useful and efficient therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
