Workouts like aerobics and dancing, cycling and playing basketball are all activities that’s supposed to be fun, freeing you from any stress as well as mind and body refreshing. But it’ll turn into a nightmare when certain injuries and bad things happened to you. Here are some basic measures to make your aerobic workouts more effective, safer, and much more enjoyable.

  • Dressing:-

Wear comfortable clothes. It will make your workout more pleasurable and able to protect you. You may choose from stylish (but often expensive) exercise gears to a much more cheaper and affordable exercise attires. But it will depend on the type of exercise and workout that you’re going to do and your own degree of comfortability.

Dress for the weather. On cold days, wear layers that can peel off as your body warms up. When it’s warm, wear light colors outdoors since dark colors absorb heat from the sun. select cotton garments or look for new materials that help draw sweat away from your skin.

Dress for safety. When working out on a equipment or without, it is best to wear clothes that are able to increase your mobility and flexibility. Remember to use all of the recommended safety gears too. For example, when cycling, you should always wear cycling safety helmet as well as elbow and knee pads. You should protect yourself from the sun when exercising outdoor like using sunscreen, sunglases, hat with visor and safety pads if necessary.

Wear clean socks made from an absorbent material and do make sure it fits well. There should be no folds or seams that chafe your feet. Keep your toenails clipped so they don’t push up against another toe, surrounding skin or the end of your shoe because it can sometimes braze among the toes and form cuts, making your workout experience a rather uncomfortable ones.

Select shoes that fits well and that are appropriate for exercising or playing sports. Good athletic shoes can be expensive, but they’re worth buying for its endurance quality. It can also help in preventing injuries and discomfort. You should have it repaired once a year or trade for a new one every three years at most. Examine footwear every once a month. When you become active, you’ll find that shoes wear out more quickly.

  • Safe surrounding

Practice sensible precautions. Avoid dangerous neighborhoods and dangerous traffic. If the weather is wet, watch out for slippery surfaces when you’re cycling and running or even walking. It is best to avoid exercising during nighttime. Even if you have to due to time constraint, find an exercise companion and stick to well-populated routes and areas.

  • Check equipment

Check your gears and main exercise equipments from time to time, and especially before using it. For example, items like bicycle, stationary cycle or treadmill should have proper maintenance once in a while to prevent it from malfunction while in action, of which can cause you injuries. Have a quick look-over before each workout to make sure everything’s in top notch condition and in good repairs. If maintenance required for certain equipments, do follow the manual.

  • Limit your distractions

Of course, exercise is much more fun when you’re doing it with friends or listening to music, or even reading books and watching TV programs. That’s perfectly fine as long as the distractions do not interfere yourself from having a safe and effective workout. But it’s better when you have your whole focus at the beginning of using a certain equipment, so that you’ll get used to it faster. Another thing, if you happens to do an outdoor activity while listening to music (using earphone as such), make sure it’s not loud so that you can still hear and be alert of what’s happening around you.
